The Profit CPA is an independent CFO advisory firm providing senior-level financial leadership to growing, complex, and distressed businesses in the United States and abroad. The firm works directly with business owners, investors, and boards to bring clarity, control, and disciplined execution to financial decision-making.
The firm focuses on executive-level financial leadership rather than transactional accounting services. Engagements are hands-on, senior-led, and tailored to the specific needs of each organization, particularly during periods of growth, transition, or financial complexity.
Founder & Leadership
The firm is led by John J. Mulhall, CPA, a senior financial executive with more than 30 years of experience providing CFO, controller, and advisory leadership to organizations facing growth, complexity, and financial stress.
John’s experience includes work in bankruptcy and restructuring environments, as well as service as a court-appointed Special Monitor, where independent judgment, financial discipline, and credibility with stakeholders were critical. He has worked directly with business owners, lenders, attorneys, investors, and boards in situations requiring reliable financial information and clear, defensible decision-making.
John brings a hands-on, execution-focused approach to every engagement, providing CFO-level oversight and leadership in both domestic and international settings. His work is grounded in independence, discretion, and a practical understanding of how financial decisions impact operations, stakeholders, and outcomes.
